Van 18 colombianos detenidos en Venezuela: aislados y sin cargos claros
El sábado 17 de mayo, una delegación encabezada por el embajador en Caracas, Milton Rengifo, intentó entregar kits de aseo en la prisión, pero no les permitieron el ingreso. Ni siquiera pudieron ver a sus compatriotas.
El número de colombianos detenidos por el régimen de Nicolás Maduro aumentó a 18. Todos están encerrados en la cárcel de El Rodeo I, sin acceso regular a sus familias y sin saber exactamente de qué se les acusa. Lo poco que han podido decir fue en una llamada el pasado 15 de mayo, la primera tras más de seis meses de silencio forzado.
La Fiscalía venezolana, en voz de Tarek William Saab, confirmó las detenciones en enero, pero hasta hoy no hay detalles claros sobre los supuestos delitos. Los familiares niegan que los detenidos participaran en algún tipo de “conspiración”, como sugiere el gobierno de Maduro.
El contexto enciende las alarmas: la noticia se conoce justo cuando Venezuela anunció la suspensión de vuelos desde Colombia, alegando “riesgos de desestabilización” antes de las elecciones legislativas y regionales del 25 de mayo. El oficialismo acusa a Bogotá de alentar una supuesta injerencia, mientras la oposición, encabezada por María Corina Machado, promueve la abstención.
